No. 482009.10.28
Good evening, folks. It's Takenaka, the programmer.
I added some flavor of "the time when a rival was beaten by a player in Story Mode" to the facial portrait this time.
…Well, it's only an inversion of the negative and positive images.
Anyways, let's leave aside a trivial matter like that...
Takenaka usually drives a Toyota MR2.
…No, not only in Wangan Maxi games. The car I actually own is an MR2.
This MR2 is an unusual car because its engine is on the rear side of the driver's seat, thus it's called a "Midship car." The distinctive form of the MR2 comes from being a midship car.
This kind of talk has been done several times so far, so let's leave it here. (laughs)
I like my MR2, and I drive it around a lot. But since I've been driving it for about 15 years, it now requires maintenance and parts exchanges.
The other day, I mustered up enough courage and decided to replace the part called the "damper" (a part of the suspension) administering the underbody because that hasn't been replaced for 120,000km or longer. (wry smiles)
Well, in selecting this replacement, I chose the tuning part in consideration of a circuit run.
It has a so-called "height adjustable suspension," the common name being "height adjust."
I think you are familiar with this part name in Wangan Maxi.
For Takenaka whose status is, "There is no leisure for the poor," he had to pay quite a lot for that part and mounted a certain manufacturer's height adjustable suspension.
Ummm, unfortunately, it lacked something… (wry smiles)
Even for height adjustable suspensions, there are various types and various manufacturers.
Unfortunately, it seemed likely that the one I bought didn't actually fit my taste.
During my mourning, I talked with the project members.
For an underbody, everyone has a hard time until it reaches the level of his taste.
After this, to improve the underbody, I've been trying out various items by adding inexpensive used parts and so on.
Thanks to these activities, I am slowly getting used to jacking up the car to take off the tires and work on the suspension while seeking help from Wangan team members.
If this is the situation in the Wangan Maxi program, it must be a little easier (?) to handle.
It is easy to change over the suspension parameters of Enma (behavior engine) and to try it out by test drives in a development machine. (laughs)
(Of course the setting output requires some extra effort.)
I wonder if this is how you get involved in tuning deeply?
See you next time!
