No. 102009.2.18
Hi folks. It's Takenaka, the programmer.
I haven't got enough sleep recently for various reasons. This is kinda old stuff to talk about, but I had a cold during the New Year holidays, so I was stuck in my bed. When I finally got out of bed, the New Year was over...(said with grief).
Well, let's put aside that blue story.
After the release of Wangan Maxi 3DX, many Japanese players pointed out the following mistake:
"(In Japanese Wangan Maxi 3DX), there is a spelling mistake in the dress-up window of the Ghost Versus Battle Mode. The term sticker is misspelled as sitcker."
I think so, too (laughs). This mistake must've stood out so much. We were flooded with inquiries from so many players every day.
So, in the project team, it was obvious that this flood of inquiries made everyone think "we've got to change this," except me, Takenaka.
"Why bother, leave it as sitcker. Sitcker is even funnier." (outburst of laughter)
Of course, everyone opposed me.
"We can't leave it like that. Not cool."
"Shame on us. We'll definitely change it."
Design-related Director Takahashi and Producer Maeda were particularly opposed to my no-change plan.
Me, Takenaka, of course held on to my idea.
"Well, it's not cool because both sticker and sitcker are mixed.
Why don't we just change all the other references of sticker to sitcker? (!) And just persist in saying, 'This is SITCKER, not sticker!'(outburst of laughter) What do you think about that?"
With no chance of even allowed to continue with my argument, my trashy idea was obviously smashed in seconds.
Thus, my, Takenaka's little dream didn't come true, and it was decided without any hesitation that sitcker should be modified to sticker.
Around the time this blog is up on the site, sitcker might've already been modified in Wangan Maxi 3DX around your neighborhood.
Of course as you know, no typo is great, but honestly, I feel it's a shame to lose a thing to make fun of...(laughs)
Now, I feel like I might say sitcker accidentally on a routine basis if I repeat sitcker so many times like this.
So let's stop around here.
See you next time!
